Immediate Signs Of Pregnancy

10 Immediate Signs of Pregnancy

Are there really immediate signs of pregnancy that you can be on the lookout for? Many women have tried to get pregnant for a long time and are anxious when it comes to looking for signs that they might at least be pregnant. However, are there immediate signs of pregnancy and what should a woman look for?

1. Implantation bleeding. Sometimes, when the seed plants itself inside the uterine wall, there is something known as implantation bleeding. It may or may not be accompanied by light cramping that is similar to your period. The bleeding will be similar to spotting and there shouldn't be much of it. Occasionally, a woman will mistake the implantation for a light period and sometimes it doesn't happen at all. If it does, however, it could be one of the immediate signs of pregnancy.

2. Missed period. Most women will know that they are pregnant, or at least suspect it, when they have a missed period. However, if your period is irregular in the first place, then you might not even realize that you have missed it. There are women out there that have gone on and had their next period, too, and still been pregnant. These tend to be women who have endometriosis or ovarian cysts.

3. Breast tenderness. Usually, the breasts start feeling tender around 3 weeks after the date of conception. You might also notice that your areolas have become darkened, too.

4. A feeling. There are some women who just have a feeling that they are pregnant and that is their first sign. Sometimes, a woman gets the feeling that she is pregnant immediately after conception has taken place. For other women, it might happen weeks later. Although there is no scientific evidence to prove this, women's intuition can tell a woman a lot when it comes to her own body.

5. Upset stomach. Nausea isn't the only thing that occurs during pregnancy when it comes to your abdomen. Constipation, general cramping, and a feeling of unsettlement can reign over your stomach. If you find that you are having trouble having a bowel movement, are experience diarrhea, or feel a general unsettling feeling in your stomach, then it could be a sign that you are pregnant. This is usually more telling when it is paired with another sign.

6. Nausea or vomiting. Nausea and vomiting are always good immediate signs of pregnancy. Some women notice the nausea right away, in as few as 2 weeks after conception. For other women, it takes longer. Not every woman vomits, but most women feel nauseated.

7. Influx of hormones. Feeling cranky and emotional? The influx of hormones is similar to those that you experience if you get PMS.

8. A feeling that your period is about to start. If you feel like your period is about to start, or could start any minute, but it doesn't, then it could be a sign that you are pregnant.

9. Fatigue. During the first trimester, most women feel fatigued. That's because your body is doing a lot of work. It is basically working around the clock and this can make you feel tired. If you suddenly feel fatigued for no good apparent reason, then you could be pregnant.

10. Increased urination. Hormones, blood vessel dilation and increased pressure means that you urinate more when you are pregnant. If you find that you are visiting the bathroom more than ever, then it's very possible that you are pregnant.

When in doubt, visit your doctor or take a home pregnancy test first. Just remember that all of the above signs could also be indications of something else, too, so it's better to know for sure.
